I know why I paid good money to see Boyz II Men, I just don't understand why I didn't get my money's worth!!!
Ways in which Boyz II Men didn't give me my money's worth:
1. Sang over karaoke tracks (no live band).
2. Were missing an integral member of the troupe (Michael McCary, the bass).
3. Failed to compensate for the absence of the fourth member during Michael's "Baby, I'm So Sorry..." spoken verse in "End of the Road," leaving the audience in the uncomfortable void of a minute-long vocal-less (backing-tracked) bridge.
4. Sang "Motown Philly" TWICE.
5. Handed out roses during "I'll Make Love to You." (Okay, this cheesiness I kind of expected, but on top of everything else...)
Not worth scratching that nostalgic itch. Not even good for the laughs!
Also, I apologize for my earlier substitution of "II" with "2." I should know better by now.
Shit, that spoken verse is in "Down on Bended Knee," isn't it.
Hhaha
I mean I understand why I didn't get my money's worth.. the disapoointment was just difficult to comprehend I know you aren't well versed in the ways of BIIM, since you had to keep asking me their names.
Alrite, I'm a mate of Sarah's.
Shit hot, you saw Big Daddy Kane and MF Doom. Sweet.
Big Daddy Kane never shows up in the UK when I try to see him.
Last time I tried he was a no-show so I ended up hitting the whisky and next thing I remembered I was on my bike cycling about in the rain on the other side of Nottingham about two miles away from the venue. I like to think it's what Big Daddy Kane would have wanted, I'm sure he's secretly down with cycling what with his aversion to half steppin' n'all.
I fail to understand how a Boyz II Men concert could generate enough expectations to allow ensuing disappointment. I think I saw them on Fresh Prince once. Now a Take That concert I could understand...
